How to complete and submit the CAT Exemption Application Form

Why the form should be completed

The purpose of this document is to address the administrative process when applying for the fundamental unit standards exemption in the case where a learner is in possession of a South African matric certificate. If a matric certificate was included in the learners' POE, the assessor will assume that you are exempt from certain fundamental unit standards, and those unit standards won't be assessed. In such a case, the CAT form must be completed and signed by you, the learner.

How to complete it

You only need to complete the first and last page of the document, and sign where indicated ‘Applicant Signature’ on the last page. The assessor/moderator will complete the remainder according to the documentation received in the POE.
