# How to update your status at the PPRA once you receive your LA letter or NQF certificate plus SOR

# Introduction

If you've recently completed your NQF qualification (NQF4 or NQF5) and have been found competent, congratulations! The next step is to update your qualification status with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA). This article guides you through both ways to do this: the online method via the MYPPRA portal, and the email method to the PPRA Education Department.

# What you'll need

To update your status, you must submit your Statement of Results (SOR) together with your proof of competence. There are two acceptable combinations – submit **one** of the following pairs:

* **LA Letter AND Statement of Results (SOR)**, or
* **NQF Qualification Certificate AND Statement of Results (SOR)**

The LA Letter (containing your LA number) is issued by your training provider to confirm external moderation. The NQF Qualification Certificate (Certificate of Competence / Qualification Award) is issued once your qualification has been formally awarded.

In addition, please have ready:

* A certified copy of your ID (not always mandatory, but it helps with verification)
* Your 7-digit PPRA reference number
* Your full name, ID number and contact details

All copies submitted should be certified.

# Method 1: Online via the MYPPRA portal

**1. Visit the PPRA website:**
Go to the PPRA website at https://www.theppra.org.za. The PPRA, formerly known as the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB), is the authority responsible for regulating property practitioners in South Africa.

**2. Log in to MYPPRA:**
Navigate to the MYPPRA portal and log in using your credentials. If you don't have an account yet, you'll need to create one before proceeding.

**3. Submit your documentation:**
Create a new query requesting a qualification status update. Attach your certified Statement of Results (SOR) together with either your LA Letter or your NQF Qualification Certificate.

**4. Await PPRA confirmation:**
The PPRA will review your documentation and update your status accordingly. This can take up to 30 days. Keep an eye on your email and MYPPRA account for notifications.

# Method 2: By email to the PPRA Education Department

You can also submit your qualification update by email.

**Attach certified copies of your Statement of Results (SOR) together with either your LA Letter or your NQF Qualification Certificate, plus your ID document:**
